Caroline is a Virginia attorney whose practice focuses on creative small- to medium-sized businesses.  Her previous life in public relations and advertising helps her understand clients' work, struggles, and concerns better than your average lawyer.

As an attorney, she's helped companies both large and small incorporate, tighten up contracts, protect trademarks and copyrights, and resolve disputes.  She works brands through IP protection and enforcement, counsels creative agencies through clearances, and stands up for small businesses. For the past four years, she's been named to Virginia Superlawyers "Rising Stars" and Virginia's "Legal Elite" in the "Under 40" or "Intellectual Property" categories by a vote of fellow Virginia attorneys.

Previous legal experience comes from medium- and small-sized firms, policy group the Future of Music Coalition, and companies like Sony Music and Crispin Porter+ Bogusky on brands like Microsoft, Kraft, Jello, Dominos, and Burger King.

Caroline is a frequent speaker and educator on legal topics relevant to small businesses, and travels across the country to lecture. You can find her teaching at conferences and in the classroom to creatives and attorneys alike.  For more information, please contact her directly at caroline (at) cjfoxlaw.com.

Caroline makes a point to collaborate with other attorneys.  She serves as Of Counsel for Connors Brenke PLLC in Lynchburg, Virginia for litigation matters and assists other firms with trademark prosecution, strategy, and defense.

Caroline is a native of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and resides in Richmond, Virginia. She enjoys hot yoga, paddle boarding, and spending time with her Cavalier King Charles spaniel, Finn. She's also the mastermind behind The Engaged Legal Collective, an educational resource for wedding and event professionals.  The first in her family to graduate with a 4-year college degree, Caroline eventually hopes to return to teaching at a university one day.
